Rationale
6.3
I am involved in a community organization called Jobs Daughters. Jobs Daughters is an organization for young girls aged 10-20 years old. It fosters youth girls and teaches them love for themselves, how to run a business meeting, as well as public speaking skills. I have been involved with this organization in the Mt. Pleasant area before student teaching, and after moving to the Munising area I became involved with the organization here. I feel that these girls are the future leaders of our free world, and I love working with them. Working with these young girls illustrates standard 6.3.
6.5
I enjoy working within the communities in which I live as much as I can. One of the organizations I am involved in works diligently to raise funds for a foundation called, HIKE. The HIKE organization provides assistance to families with hearing impaired children. An activity I organized was making purple ribbon pins to sell for the HIKE fund. Ribbon was cut a specific length, folded, and a small safety pin added. The color purple is correlated with HIKE. The pins were then sold and all funds given to HIKE. This illustrates standard 6.5.
